THE WU-TANG CLAN OF TORONTO IMPROV HELLO
MY NAME IS: Julie is a Toronto-bred improviser, producer and voice actor who has been improvising for more than 15 years. Currently, she is one half of the appealingly appalling “progressive” improv duo 10,000 to Flight (with comedy partner-in-crime Mark Andrada). Julie & Mark also co-curate the buzzed-about “underground” Manifesto series of cabaret houseparties/comedy salons.
She is the national Associate Artistic Director of the Canadian Improv Games – the country’s largest improv festival and tournament for high school students. She has served as Artistic Director of both Improv Camp and the Next Act Festival, and has directed, taught and adjudicated improv across the country.
Julie has performed with (among others) the Second City National Tour. Co., the Bad Dog Theatre Co., the Impatient Theatre Co.; and at the Toronto, Vancouver, Victoria & Winnipeg International Improv Festivals as well as at the Del Close Marathon in New York and Edmonton’s Improvaganza.
She is the co-creator of the popular (and nationally franchised) competitive format catch23 IMPROV and was one of the original producers of that long-running weekly show as well as the c23 Tournament of Wonders it spawned. Julie has also been a Toronto Fringe Festival regular, with 10k2f’s recent run and her turntablism/longform improv hybrid soundtrack:project standing out as highlights.
In her “spare” time, Julie is the female voice of the Family Channel and can additionally be heard hawking any number of products, services and
dreams for the future on
the airwaves and online. Julie
